Peter R. Schaefer
Peter R. Schaefer, FSA, MAAA, President and CEO, joined HLR America on January 1, 1999 as Chief Actuary and assumed his current responsibilities two years later.
Prior to joining HLR America, he was Vice President and Actuary with The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company where he had responsibility for product pricing, reinsurance and experience analysis.
Peter graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business in 1982 with a B.S. in Economics. He is an active participant in numerous actuarial and life insurance industry committees and currently serves on the Board of Directors of LL Global, Inc. and the American Council of Life Insurers’ Forum 500 Board of Governors. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
